Upcoming EventsJuly 30 Rosary Walk for Life
after 8:15am Mass You're invited to join pilgrims from other parishes praying the Mysteries of the Rosary as we walk from the church around the town of Monument stopping occasionally to pray other pro-life prayers. The route is about 1/2 mile. Walkers will be reinforced by special prayers offered by the homebound, those in assisted-living centers and at two other diocesan adoration chapels. If you are unable to walk the route, please consider the time in prayer in our Peter the Rock Adoration Chapel. The Rosary Walk for Life will conclude with a Divine Mercy Chaplet in the chapel. This combined prayer effort by adorers and rosary-walkers led by Deacon Jim Bachta, is an effort to engage more intently in the Spiritual Battle for the Sanctity of Life in Colorado and provide an umbrella of support for Sidewalk Advocates and prayer partners who witness near the Colorado Springs abortion facility -Planned Parenthood. Our prayers are indispensable in the battle for souls compromised by a culture that denies the sanctity and dignity of every precious life. A similar Rosary Walk occurs monthly at different parishes throughout the diocese, with supporting prayers from different adoration chapels. (The schedule is advertised in The Catholic Herald.) For more information contact Stephanie Kemp ([email protected] or 719-491-4355). Our St. Peter School staff and students (along with parish office staff) were superheroes on Wednesday, March 6, wearing their new "REMEMBER The Unborn" t-shirts. SPCS is the first school in the diocese to start a Life Runners School Chapter. They will join other team members around the world wearing "REMEMBER The Unborn" shirts as a life-saving witness on the 1st Wednesday of every month.
WHY LIFE RUNNERS? 78% of post-abortion mothers said if they had encountered ONE supportive person or encouraging message, they would have chosen life. 23,400+ teammates in 3,500+ cities across 47 nations, deliver millions of life-saving messages with “REMEMBER The Unborn” jerseys and jackets. Running is optional. 10,000+ students (K to college) wear jerseys at school to be heroically pro-life, preventing abortions and changing our culture. Post-abortion parents also wear this redemptive message for healing. With access to the abortion pill in the mail and across state lines, Life Runners present life-saving messages everywhere. If you want to join our school students and staff in their simple pro-life witness, visit https://www.liferunners.org/help/ to order a blue "REMEMBER the Unborn" jersey and wear it on the first Wednesday of each month. Sunday, October 1, 2023 Bishop's Respect Life Roundup
Thanks to all the parishioners who joined Bishop Golka at the Flying W Ranch for the 2023 Respect Life Roundup. 930 people attended from around the diocese - over 70 from St. Peter. We have a limited number of ribbon-bundled notecards of the featured, original artwork for the Bishop's Roundup auction. The beautiful painting of the Blessed Mother pictured riding a humble donkey carrying Jesus in her womb earned the diocesan Respect Life Apostolate $5,000 at the dinner this year. The notecard packets will be at the parish office available during regular office hours for a suggested donation of $20 (check or cash, please). October 2, 2022 The Truth About RU486
LiveAction has documented the highly politicized and anti-scientific nature of the Federal Drug Administration approval process for the chemical abortion pill- RU486. FDA approval has been used to hide the adverse and deadly effects of the combined drugs (Mifepristone and Misoprostol) from vulnerable mothers seeking a quick medical abortion. Currently there is an effort underway to make the abortion pill available over the counter. Read this highly-documented article and click here to watch the two short videos.
