  • The St. Peter Respect Life Ministry will be participating in the 2012 Lenten 40 Days for Life on Saturday, March 10th. Fr. Don will offer Mass on the sidewalk near Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs. The spring campaign actually begins Ash Wednesday, February 22, with churches across the Pikes Peak region in the 40 day, prayerful witness at Planned Parenthood. This year we will be officially joined on March 10 by parishioners from Our Lady of the Pines and from St. Francis. We hope for a minimum of 10 people per hour from 6am to 6pm witnessing to the inherent dignity of unborn life. Help get the word out and invite your friends in the Black Forest and Castle Rock areas to join us. Watch for more details in the coming weeks. To make your sidewalk commitment now contact Stephanie Kemp 481-4355. If we don’t exercise our Constitutional right to religious liberty and expression … we will lose it.

  • Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP): Begins here at St Peter on March 23rd. The program is designed to help those on their faith journey become closer to Christ and more in tune with how our faith guides us. The beauty of this program is that it actually allows us to sexually discriminate. What, you say!!!! The program is offered only for women, and then only for men. The program consists of a series of talks, all given by lay people just like you, about areas of our faith. The talks are followed by discussions about how the particular issue impacts their lives. It is an overnighter that begins on Saturday morning and ends on Sunday afternoon. Reconciliation and Mass are included. The presenters for our initial offering are all from Ave Maria parish in Parker, CO. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore your faith in a setting free of distraction. We encourage women of our parish who are interested to contact Deacon Mike to sign up or to have questions answered.
  • Ladies CHRP Retreat:  This women’s overnight weekend is scheduled for March 24th-25th. This renowned retreat is for Saint Peter adult women parishioners (18+), and space is limited. The retreat will be held in the Saint Peter School beginning Saturday morning at 8:00AM and ends at approximately 4:00PM on Sunday. Meals and sleeping arrangements will be provided. All you need to bring is a pillow and sleeping bag or blanket. Please contact Dede Laugesen on her cell at 303-653-8692 or Dede@TheRosaryProject.com  and mention CHRP in the subject line.
  • The Center for Ministry Development is coming to Colorado Springs on Thursday, April 12th (9AM-3PM) at St. Paul’s to present a workshop entitled “Mobilizing Volunteers for Your Ministry.” Parish ministry leaders might consider attending, and encouraging others involved in any ministry to attend as well.
  • Volunteer Appreciation Event will take place Sunday, April 15th (1-3PM) in Jaeger Hall.
  • First Annual Hoedown (see flyer) to be held April 21st.   Tickets go on sale next weekend, February 18-19 after each Mass for our first annual Hoedown with Msgr. Bob Jaeger as our honorary guest. We will have a BBQ dinner, dancing (live band), gambling and a silent auction. Pikes Peak Brewery and The Wine Seller are sponsoring our cash bar. This event is for adults only and tickets are $30 each. With each ticket purchased you will receive $50 in gambling chips to get you started on Poker, Black Jack, Deluxe Craps, or Roulette.
