Challenge is
a club for girls ages 10+ to grow in virtue, friendship, and Catholic faith. Girls learn about themselves and others by doing apostolic work and create a positive impact on family, friends, and the world.
Challenge is designed to help adolescent girls go out into the world and make a positive impact as strong and authentic Catholic role models. The dual approach of combined apostolic work and formation helps to unite the girls with Christ in order to live virtue, find happiness and make a difference.

“You also have “wings”, the wings of goodness and faith. And with these wings you will bring to every place the joy of being daughters of God.” Benedict XVI | “Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.:” St. Therese of Lisieu “We will never know how much a simple smile will do. Smile five times a day at someone you don’t really want to smile at all.” Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta |

| ” Thanks to Challenge, I am more comfortable and confident when I have to explain aspects of my faith to my peers – Protestants and other non-Catholics. I am now able to clarify that we honor Mary as the Mother of Christ, how saints intercede for us, and what is the role of the Pope. I felt comfortable explaining my confirmation to my friends as well. Because my role in Challenge is mentoring younger girls, teaching and explaining, I have learned how to effectively share my faith with others as well. Catholic information comes across as more real and believable to young people when shared by a teenager instead of a Mom.” Haley G., St. Peter parishioner, 3+ years in Challenge Club | “Last Ash Wednesday was the CSAPS day at my school. As a freshman, I was not required to go that day, so I went to mass at 8:00 A.M. I went to school afterwards, with my ashes on my forehead. I got some nasty comments, but also a lot of questions about my faith and what I believed. In civics my teacher asked me to explain to my whole classroom what the ashes meant. The next day in Biology, two of my friends started asking questions about the Catholic faith. If I didn’t have the confidence from Challenge, I would have taken the ashes off my forehead after the first nasty comment I received, but then I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to share my faith and be a witness for others. Challenge has really deepened my understanding and made me so proud of my faith!” Nicole G, St. Peter parishioner, 3 years in Challenge Club | |
| “As a mom of a Challenge Club member, I wish every Catholic girl was involved in Challenge. It’s a Catholic formation program for life! Girls are learning from young leaders who are much closer to their age than adults in their life. The young girls seem to relate to the “teen” leaders so well! They look up to these teens and really take their examples and stories to heart. I think the teen leaders have a greater, deeper and longer lasting impact than we parents really expect.” Monique G, St. Peter parishioner, Mother of a Challenge Club member | “When my grandma passed away, I went through a really difficult time – it lead to a crisis of my faith. I wasn’t really sure I still believed, but every time I went to a Challenge meeting, whether it was the high school meeting, or I was leading my 5th graders, I always felt that it was wrong to teach something I didn’t believe. My team friends helped me realize I had no way of living my life without God and that I had to look to Him for healing instead of just people and worldly things. Without Challenge, I wouldn’t have found the healing I needed!” Lee G, St. Peter parishioner, 3+ years in Challenge Club | |
| “I had to give up Wednesday basketball practices for the past two years, which then meant I was not allowed to start in Thursday games. Then I thought it was the worst thing ever… when I look back now, I’m so glad that my mom made Challenge my priority, because it helped me understand that my faith should come before everything else. Challenge has totally changed my attitudes toward God and others through the deep gospel reflections I have participated in with other girls who believe the same things I do. I am now very proud of my faith and not at all scared to show others that I’ve “GOT JESUS”!!!” Nikki G, St. Peter parishioner, 3+ years in Challenge Club | “I wanted to play volleyball this fall but I couldn’t because of my commitment to Challenge. I knew Challenge was, in the long-run, more important. It has helped me with my spiritual growth, quality of my prayer, and understanding and practicing virtue. Challenge is a great outlet for spending time with my old and new friends who share the same faith.” Haley G., St. Peter parishioner, 3+ years in Challenge Club |
